Balcony Railing, Aluminum Railing
North Burnaby
The second-floor balcony sat above a double garage on a sloped Westridge lot with open views toward the north. The homeowner wanted to keep those sightlines open rather than block them with solid pickets, while still screening the section that faced directly onto a neighbour’s yard.
We fitted tempered glass panels into black powder-coated aluminum posts with a matching top rail. Clear glass runs along the open, view-facing sides, and frosted glass covers the section beside the neighbouring property for privacy. The black frame ties into the home’s dark exterior for a clean, contemporary look, and the powder-coated finish resists corrosion in the wet coastal climate.
On a raised balcony with a view, glass is the one guard material that meets code without blocking the outlook. It keeps the deck feeling open and larger, needs no staining or sealing, and the tempered panels stay clear year after year with only occasional cleaning.
A bright, open balcony with a code-compliant guard, private where it needs to be and clear where the view matters. Starting prices for framed glass railings begin at $140 per linear foot installed, with the final number set after an on-site measurement of length, height, and access.
