A gate is the one thing on your property that has moving parts, an electric motor, and a set of hinges carrying several hundred kilograms, all of it sitting outdoors on a saltwater inlet. Everything that can seize, corrode, or fail is exposed. That is why a driveway gate in Port Moody is not the same job as a driveway gate in Langley, and why the gates that fail here fail at the hardware long before anything happens to the panel.
We build for that. Every metal driveway gate we install in Port Moody uses powder-coated steel or aluminum with 316 marine-grade stainless hardware on hinges, fasteners, and latch mechanisms, and every automation housing is rated for coastal exposure. Our shop is at 1770 McLean Ave in Port Coquitlam, fifteen minutes away, so when an automated gate does eventually need service, we are close enough to actually turn up. For the full range of gate styles, materials, and automation options, see our driveway gates page.

SERVICE OVERVIEW
Port Moody is not one gate market. It is two, and the difference matters.
Port Moody also receives heavy annual rainfall, and gate posts carry their load eccentrically, which means a footing that is undersized or set too shallow will lean within a few seasons. Every post we set goes into concrete at the depth this ground and this frost line require.
316 marine-grade stainless on hinges, fasteners, and latch hardware. Standard stainless pits and seizes on a saltwater inlet, and a seized hinge on a 300kg gate is not a cosmetic problem.
Heritage Mountain grade and forest debris rule out a ground track. We do not find that out on install day.
An undersized motor on a heavy gate is the most common cause of early automation failure anywhere, and salt air shortens its life further. We size it correctly the first time.
Manual metal driveway gates starting from $2,500 installed. Automated electric gates for driveways starting from $5,000 installed.

PROCESS
We come out, measure the entrance, read the grade and the clearance, and assess how exposed the property is to salt air. This is where the swing or sliding decision gets made, and where the hardware specification is set.
Your gate is fabricated and powder-coated while posts are set in concrete footings to the depth this ground requires. Posts cure fully before the gate is hung.
The gate is hung, aligned, and tested. Automation is installed, wired, programmed, and safety-tested. We walk the full system with you before we leave.
We will come out, look at the entrance, check the exposure and the grade, and tell you honestly what configuration your driveway can support. Clear quote, no obligation. To book a free on-site consultation, contact us.

Automated gates and taller installations may require one. We know the local requirements and can advise based on your specific project and location.
It depends on your driveway geometry. A swing gate requires clearance behind the gate equal to the gate width for the swing arc. A sliding driveway gate rolls sideways and requires clearance to one side of the opening. For Langley driveways with limited depth or an uphill grade, a sliding gate is typically the better choice. We assess your specific driveway during the consultation and recommend the right configuration.
