Glass Deck Railing
South Burnaby
The raised sundeck sat above the garage at the back of the lot, with open views over the neighbourhood toward the Fraser River flats. The homeowners wanted to keep those sightlines open across the wide, view-facing run, while screening the shorter sides that looked straight into the yards next door.
We ran a full perimeter of tempered glass set into black powder-coated aluminum posts with a matching top rail. Clear glass spans the long, view-facing side, and frosted glass covers the side runs for privacy. The black frame matches the home’s trim, and the powder-coated finish stands up to the wet coastal climate without staining or repainting.
On a raised deck with a view, glass is the guard material that meets code without blocking the outlook. It keeps the space feeling open and larger, cuts wind while holding the view, and needs no sanding or sealing the way a wood railing would.
A bright, open sundeck with a full-perimeter glass guard, private on the sides and clear where the view matters. Starting prices for framed glass railings begin at $140 per linear foot installed, with the final number set after an on-site measurement of length, height, and access.
